Amazon’s “Treasure Truck” Is Bringing Kitchen Tech and Goodies to Your Local Whole Foods
Today would be a great day to head to a Whole Foods.
If you’re a routine Whole Foods shopper and happen to have the Amazon app, you may have a good reason to head to the grocery store today (you know, besides needing to pick up something for dinner tonight). Starting today, Amazon is bringing their “Treasure Truck” to Whole Foods locations across the country—an incentive for those who use the app, and a way for you to snag fun products and score deals on your purchases at Whole Foods.
Unfamiliar with the Treasure Truck? In the past, the Amazon’s Treasure Truck has been used for fun promotional events like a midnight release for the latest Harry Potter book, or given away free Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. But in this latest voyage, the trucks will be setting up shop at your local Whole Foods, bringing kitchen tech, ingredients, and “trending, local, or delicious items,” according to a an official press statement.
The trucks won't be at all locations though—the campaign will only reach 25 cities as of now, and you’ll want to check their website to see if yours is on the list. If you happen to run into the Treasure Truck at a Whole Foods near you today, you can purchase an Instant Pot (Duo Mini 3 Qt.) through your Amazon App, with some additional perks: You’ll nab a $10 off $40 coupon to Whole Foods, and a few recipes from Michelle Tam, the author of Nom Nom Paleo.
Amazon’s acquisition of Whole Foods last year brought with it a lot of ups and downs. (Remember when those grocery prices fluctuated like crazy, and that Whole Foods inventory mix-up?) But if this newest promotion means Instant Pots and Whole Foods discounts, we’re game for what the Treasure Truck is delivering.
