This easy guacamole recipe gets back to basics. Whip up this popular party dip for a crowd—and you'll be amazed at how quickly it disappears. Simple ingredients is the top priority, so the real star can shine: avocado. We let the onion and jalapeño macerate with the lime juice and salt to tame their flavors slightly. Be particularly sure to use avocados at peak ripeness.

Serve this homemade dip with your favorite tortilla chips, and set out some crunchy vegetables to dip, too, such as radishes, mini sweet peppers, and jicama slices.

How to Make It

Combine onion, lime juice, jalapeño, and salt in a medium bowl; let stand 10 minutes. Add avocados; mash to desired consistency. Stir in cilantro.
