National Ice Cream Day is probably not at the top of a dieter's list of food holidays to celebrate—but just because ice cream isn't a superfood, it doesn't mean that you have to miss out on the fun. Especially since there's a promotion on some of the best ice cream happening at Whole Foods Market through the weekend, which includes a better-for-you sweet treat that you can feel good about eating.

In celebration of National Ice Cream Day on Sunday, July 15, Whole Foods is offering all Ben & Jerry's ice cream varieties and Talenti's gelato—both dairy and non-dairy flavors—for just $3 a pint when you buy two. But if you're an Amazon Prime Member, you can cash in on an additional 10 percent discount when you scan your Whole Foods or Amazon mobile app at checkout. Meaning you can dig into a pint of your favorite flavor for just around $2.70 this weekend.

This special deal requires you to buy two pints. which is great if you're shopping for the whole family. But if you are just shopping for a treat for yourself—or don't trust yourself with two whole pints of ice cream or gelato—there's also a printable coupon for $1.50 off any one pint of all varieties of Talenti gelato. You can use this coupon through the end of August.

While we won't judge if you decide to go the Ben & Jerry's route (try the vegan flavors—they're delicious and a bit healthier), Talenti's gelato is a much more wholesome dessert choice than many other products in the frozen aisle. Talenti's newest flavors include a touch of monk fruit as a natural sweetener, which helps reduce its sugar counts to half that of traditional ice cream. Plus, they're just 120 calories per serving. Over the past year, many gelato brands have employed new technology to reduce up to of 98 percent of sugar usually found in the dessert.

As Whole Foods gears up to participate in Amazon's annual sale event, Prime Day, next Monday, shoppers can earn a $10 credit to use on a future purchase on Prime Day if they spend $10 or more in stores before the event kicks off. Affordable sweet treats for National Ice Cream Day and a discount on your next Amazon order? Sounds like a win-win to us.
