Learn how to master cooking—from the comfort of your own home.
Our friends at Real Simple just launched The Real Simple Cooking School: a free community-meets-school where users can “learn the tips, techniques, and recipes they need to cook with confidence.”
On the website, you can find recipes for dishes such as Garlicky Pan Con Tomate and Vanilla Peaches in Rose, as well as step-by-step instructions for setting up your charcoal grill, organizing your fridge, or holding your cutting board in place while you chop food.
Real Simple Food Director, Dawn Perry, says, “We're excited about the Real Simple Cooking School because it teaches our readers and viewers the basics of cooking in a practical and approachable way, but experienced cooks can still learn a thing or two—like how to spatchcock a whole chicken."
There’s also a robust library of helpful how-to videos on their Facebook page. In just a few minutes, users can learn how to make a 5-ingredient chocolate and coconut pie, or learn how to slice the perfect onion (something I personally happen to struggle with!)
The recipes don't all meet Cooking Light's nutritional guidelines. But they’re real, easy, and approachable for home cooks who are wanting to try something new. And we’re definitely on board with getting people to cook more at home.
