Here’s what she’s (probably) eating.

It’s protocol that British royals don’t usually have baby showers, but Meghan Markle is breaking that tradition this week. Good Morning America reported that Markle, who is due this spring, is in New York City on a “personal trip to see friends before she has her baby.”

Royal news contributor Omid Scobie tweeted that “today’s baby shower is the first of two...20 of Meghan’s loved ones—including Misha Nonoo, Jessica Mulroney and Abigail Spencer—will join her in New York City later this afternoon, with a smaller gathering scheduled for pals on this side of the pond.” Serena Williams reportedly helped organize the event, and will take on hosting duties. And from the sound of it, she’s letting no detail go unnoticed (the shindig reportedly cost $200,000!)

Royal reporter Carolyn Durand tweeted that guests “will feast on Jean-Georges cuisine and learn how to flower arrange before [Markle] flies back to the UK this evening.”

Markle is reported to be staying at the Mark hotel, where Jean-Georges has a restaurant. According to their website, the restaurant features “fresh-from-the-market, simple cooking” and a “world class menu of subtly innovative European classics as well as Jean-Georges' signature global seasonings will be sure to satisfy cravings for both simple and eclectic palates alike.”

This restaurant choice seems right up Markle’s alley—she’s been known to follow a vegan diet most of the time, and typically eats healthy meals with plenty of fresh fruits and veggies. Although it’s been reported the party will be held in this $75,000-a-night penthouse suite.

More on Meghan Markle's diet from Cooking Light:

We scoped out the menu, and tried to guess what the Duchess of Sussex would eat (though, if we’re being real, a special menu will probably be created just for her.) Jean-Georges features recipes by season, and some winter menu items that would be delicious include Brussels Sprouts With Apples and Herbs, Swiss Chard Braised in Shiitake Butter, Baeckeoffe (a potato, lamb, and root vegetable dish), Almond-Caramelized Duck Breast With Amaretto Jus, and Chocolate Cake for dessert. (Though Markle is mostly a vegan, she eats meat on special occasions.)

All of that sounds incredibly delicious...we’re just bummed our invite got lost in the mail.
