We Tried Costco’s New Hard Cider—And We’re Obsessed
Summer is here, which means we’re on the lookout for a tasty poolside drink! We love a good boozy popsicle from Costco, but the retailer’s latest addition to fun summer beverages just might be our new favorite.
We were thrilled to discover that Costco now sells variety packs of Austin Eastciders hard cider and couldn’t wait to get our hands on them. With flavors like Blood Orange and Rosé, these aren’t your ordinary, apple-flavored alcoholic beverages. We were pleasantly surprised with all the flavors we tried.
The original flavor is a crisp, dry cider that doesn’t have an overwhelming apple flavor. One staffer said she could drink a million of these, and another agreed, saying this was way too easy to drink! The original flavor has 140 calories and 9g of sugar per 12-ounce can.
This sweet cider reminded some of a mimosa, but one notable comment said “tastes like fizzy Sunny D—in the best way!” Austin Eastciders does a great job of giving us just enough of the flavor we need, without it being *too* in your face. The blood orange flavor has 150 calories and 12g sugar per 12-ounce can.
We didn’t really know what to expect with this one, but everyone was raving about this flavor. One staffer said they only want to drink this from now on, while another simply said, “this is so beautiful.” It actually had a floral rose taste, too! The rosé flavor has 140 calories and 8g sugar per 12-ounce can.

We’re going to be honest—we were a little scared to try a watermelon-flavored hard cider. However, most of us ended up being big fans of this variety. Several people deemed Watermelon their favorite flavor, reminding them of a Jolly Rancher or what they imagine a watermelon soda would taste like. The watermelon flavor has 150 calories and 12g sugar per 12-ounce can.
Austin Eastciders also sells some super creative flavors besides these delicious ones. From Pear-Rosemary to Texas Brut Super Dry, you have to check this brand out before summer’s end!
