We've almost made it through the first month of the new year, which means it's officially time to get our kitchens ready for some extra lovin' and romance. What's a better way to celebrate Valentine's Day than with chocolate and wine?

Aldi must have been reading our minds, because they combined two of our favorite things in their new line of chocolate wine (which is actually available all year long). We had a chance to taste a bottle of our own, which retails for $6.99, and learned that chocolate wine may not be our jam after all. Womp womp.

Aldi's chocolate wine, which bears a striking similarity to Nesquik chocolate milk, said that wine tasted less like a "blend of red wine with chocolate flavor," and actually more like…vodka.

"Chocolate martinis, anyone?" one staffer wrote in their notes. "A solid cross between chocolate milk and vodka," wrote another.

It very may well be chocolate vodka, especially since the ingredients label lists "neutral spirits" as one of the first ingredients. The (kind of harsh) bottom line: it tasted more like chocolate milk mixed with cough syrup, and our staffers said they wouldn't be serving it this Valentine’s Day.

How to hack your local Aldi:

Alongside the wine, Aldi is also launching a line of limited-edition cheeses under their Happy Farms label—and they're all themed to the best of the 80s. Nothing says "love" like Total Eclipse of the Havarti, right? But these too-cute cheese samplers will hit Aldi stores on February 6, right before the Grammys, and just in time for a rockin' cheese plate.

The cheese samplers, which will be sold for $3.49 each, are one of many Aldi Finds we're keeping an eye on this February. While some shoppers may be excited about new Valentine's Day treats, we're jumping for joy over these new products that will begin to roll out to stores nationwide on February 6:
