This past December, we challenged you to Bake a Second Batch for friends, charities, or someone who could use a lift. We were awed and humbled by the response we received and how many of you paid it forward. Each story was truly inspiring.

Congratulations to our winner, Ashley of Mobile, Alabama who inspired us by baking for a local children's home:

"My husband and I volunteer with the Alabama Baptist Children's Home: a temporary home for kids whose parents are unable to care for them due to incarceration or other unstable circumstances. We decided to bake our "Second Batches" for the boys and girls there. But we also baked extra batches for each set of house parents. These men and women tirelessly give of their time, love, and energy in order to provide these children with a home during a scary and unpredictable time of their lives. We are continuously inspired by their selflessness. Cookies, while not anything major, were a little way for us to show them how much we appreciate all they do to serve those in need. Thanks, CL, for challenging us to do this! Merry Christmas!"

Our semi-finalists each won a copy of our latest cookbook, Lighten Up, America![gallery type="rectangular" ids="9967,9957,9958,9964,9962,9959,9960,9961,9963,9966,9965"]
