My plan was to make cheese bread with lots of parmesan and some aged gouda I bought yesterday. I also decided to make an extra loaf, because I love cheese bread. I lowered the oven rack to make room for the extra baking sheet, which was a big mistake. The bread was too close to the heating element at the bottom of the oven, and the bottom burned to a crisp. What a waste of cheese. I cut off the burnt part and it tastes all right, but the fact remains that today I have failed utterly as a baker. I'm ashamed. Embarrassing photo below. I'll be back next Wednesday with some non-burnt bread.
Please leave me some pity in the comments.
