Cooking Light Ultimate Dream Destinations Contest Official Rules

HOW TO ENTER: This Contest begins March 15, 2008 and ends 11:59 p.m. CDST on May 15, 2008. To enter go to CookingLight.com/DreamDestinations, complete the survey and tell us in 500 words or less, 1) why this location embodies the Cooking Light philosophy of "eat smart, be fit, live well" and 2) why you would like to win a vacation there. Limit one entry per person. Entries become sole property of Cooking Light and none will be returned. By entering this you give Sponsors permission to publish your name and essay (in whole or in part) and to use same for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation.

JUDGING: All entries will be judged by representatives of Cooking Light magazine as follows: How well the location choice incorporates that person's view of the Cooking Light philosophy (50%), creativity (25%) and originality (25%). In the event of a tie, the person among the tied entries with the highest score in originality is the winner. Your submission must be original and not previously published. Decisions of judges are final and binding. Winner will be notified by email, telephone and/or mail on or before July 15, 2008.

ELIGIBILITY: Open to legal residents of the contiguous United States and the District of Columbia who have reached the age 21 as of the start date of the contest. Void prohibited by law. Employees of Cooking Light and other Contest Sponsors ("Sponsors"), their parents, affiliates and subsidiaries, participating advertising and promotion agencies and prize suppliers (and members of their immediate family and/or those living in the same of household of each such employee) are not eligible.

PRIZES AND APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUE: One (1) Winner will receive a Grand Prize grand prize consisting of a travel allowance of up to $12,000 to be used by winner to travel to their Dream Destination. Prize will include round-trip economy-class airfare for Winner and one (1) guest from the major airport nearest Winner's residence to Winner's Dream Destination and a five (5) night stay at a local-area hotel (double occupancy). Travel arrangements, hotel accommodations, and any other prize component is subject to availability and chosen at Sponsor's sole discretion. Trip must be taken by December 31, 2009. Certain blackout periods and other restrictions may apply. All travelers must possess valid travel documents. Winner and Guest must travel on the same itinerary. Estimated value of prize is $12,000. The actual value of prize may vary based on timing of travel, point of departure and destination. The difference between the estimated value of the price and the actual value of the prize will not be awarded. Winner is responsible for all taxes and all other expenses not included in the prize package, including, without limitation, ground travel, parking, meals, room service, souvenirs, phone calls, incidentals, tips, and other personal expenses.

CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION: No transfer, assignment or substitution of the prize. Sponsors reserve the right to substitute prize for an item of equal or greater value in the event of unavailability. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Entrants agree to be bound by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of Sponsors, which are final and binding on all matters pertaining to this Contest. Potential winner may be required to sign and return a Statement of Eligibility and Release of Liability within seven (7) days following the date of first attempted notification. Failure to comply with this deadline may result in forfeiture of the prize and selection of an alternate winner. Return of any prize/prize notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. Acceptance of the prize constitutes permission for Sponsors to use winner's name, likeness and/or essay, for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law. Winner will be responsible for obtaining all necessary travel documents required by U.S. law or the laws of the country to be visited. By accepting prize, winner agrees to hold Sponsors, their respective directors, officers, employees and assigns harmless for any injury or damage caused or claimed to be caused by participation in the contest. Sponsors are not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the contest offer, administration of the contest or in the announcement of the prize.

INTERNET DISCLAIMERS: Sponsor is not responsible for lost or late entries nor for electronic transmission errors resulting in omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware or software malfunctions or limitations of any kind, or inaccurate transmissions of or failure to receive entry information by Sponsors on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web site or any combination thereof. If for any reason the contest is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of the Sponsors which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this contest, Sponsors reserve the right at their sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest. Sponsors reserve the right to select winners from eligible entries received as of the termination date. If there is a dispute as to the identity of the entrant, the prize will be awarded to the authorized account holder of the email address. The "authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person to whom the email address is assigned.
