Sometimes I just need a spicy, crunchy, kick-in-the-pants. And when I do, these Biena Chickpea Snacks in Habanero are my go-to. They're superbly crunchy, pleasantly nutty, with a strange-but-oddly-compelling texture that transforms from gritty to creamy as you snack. Weird, yes. Delicious, absolutely. Healthy, indeed! The best part about this addictively nutty power snack is the fact there are 6g fiber and 5g protein packed into 1/4 cup. They're dry-roasted--not fried--which adds a layer of toasty goodness onto these already nutty, crispy, crunchy bites.
These snacks come in handy little resealable pouches that serve 2, so if you find yourself at the bottom of the bag in one sitting (not an unreasonable assumption, considering portion control is not exactly everyone's forte...), you're only out 260 calories. Compare that to an 8-ounce bag of potato chips, which will set you back 1280 calories.
My favorite way to eat them? Tossed into salads (Greek-style, whole grain, leafy green… you name it), sprinkled over creamy soups, or just straight out of the bag with an ice cold beer.
