More S'mores, Please! The Classic S'more
S'mores are important to summer! In fact, if you are eating anything other than fresh fruit pies and s'mores all summer, you're really not doing it right. Don't get offended, homemade ice cream and cobbler! It has nothing to do with you and everything to do with marshmallows. There is just something so satisfying about a melty, gooey interactive treat that you can build with your family and friends.
Until now, the standard s'more construction started by purchasing all of the ingredients at the grocery store. Three boxes or packages plus one campfire = dessert, right? Well, with a homemade s'more-gasbord (sorry), this is no longer the case.
The Cooking Light Classic S'more involves a toasty cookie sweetened with honey and cinnamon, a fluffy marshmallow from scratch and organic sugar, plus rich dark chocolate.
With this More S'mores series, I'll go beyond chocolate—if you can even believe! (Beyond chocolate? Gasp!) Key Lime Pie S'mores, Mexican Chocolate S'mores (okay, the chocolate doesn't stop entirely), and of course bacon! Stay tuned for more delicious s'mores recipes in the coming days.

I used the following recipes for the marshmallow and cracker. You can use your own recipes, or give these a try:- Food and Wine's Plain Marshmallow Recipe- Patricia's Table Recipe for Animal Crackers (I rolled out this dough to 1/8" thickness and cut it into 2" squares.)
