Quick hits: Three great beauty products I’m loving these days
This is kind of a random conglomeration of items—some new, some not so much—but I occasionally like to share what’s been in heavy rotation in my beauty closet. My hope is that you’ll find something you love, too.
1) A PRIMER: Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer ($52, hourglasscomestics.com). I’ve delved into the world of primers before and found a few good standouts, but I’m pretty much in love with this stuff. A tiny pump of product goes a long way, so I know I will get my money’s worth with this guy. I smooth it on between moisturizer (with SPF, of course!) and foundation, and it gives my skin a nice smooth surface and helps keep shine at bay—a must in this crazy Alabama humidity. I also feel like it gives me a little glow that lasts all day.
2) AN EXFOLIATOR: Laura Mercier Face Polish ($30, lauramercier.com). Yeah, there are some great drugstore-level options out there (St Ives makes great ones!), but I love the luxurious, creamy texture of this one. It’s not too harsh on sun-kissed summer skin, and it leaves my face super-soft. Another example of a little bit of product going a long way.
3) A GREAT NAIL POLISH: I’ve extolled the virtues of fun blues and greens on summer nails, but I fell in love with Essie’s Mojito Madness ($8, essie.com), and it’s stayed in heavy rotation since then. It’s unexpected and happy on toes, and nice and fresh on fingers. I’m a big fan of Essie’s entire lineup, but this is definitely one of my top three shades. Bonus: It makes me want a Mojito.
