Low-carb dieters, rejoice!

If you’ve ever been on keto or another very low-carb diet, you know how limiting it can be. Sandwiches become cold, sad meat-and-cheese roll ups and tacos turn into taco salads sans shell. But that all might be changing, thanks to a new product from Crepini. Enter, egg white thins.

The company is known for their crepes, but recently launched a line of egg white-based products. Their protein egg white thins come in plain and gluten-free varieties, plus they carry three frozen products: egg white thins stuffed with spinach, feta, and egg whites; 4-cheese marinara basil egg white thins; and guacamole-filled egg white thins.

We were curious to see what all of the fuss was about, so we picked up a package of the gluten-free egg white thins. The instructions say to microwave them for 10-15 seconds, or until warm, so that’s what we did. We ate them plain to get the true taste and texture.

Here’s the thing: they taste like pretty much nothing, but that’s not a bad thing. They’re not overly “egg-y,” so they’d work with nearly any savory or sweet filling. They’re a lot like smaller, thinner crepes—so you could stuff them with chicken and herbs, whip up a batch of low-carb breakfast burritos, or tuck in some strawberries and fluffy whipped cream for dessert.

And they’re actually pretty healthy, too. Each wrap has just 35 calories, .5g of fat (none of which is saturated), 130mg of sodium, 3g of carbs, and 3g of protein. We love sandwich wraps and tacos just as much as anyone else, but with nutrition stats like these, we may just be convinced to make the switch for good.
