We tried three different flavors of the newest milk alternative—here's what we thought.

This week on the Cooking Light Taste Test, Jaime and I tried three different versions of one kind of milk alternative.

Now, you probably know there are a lot of different milk substitutes out there—from classics like soy and almond, to trendsetters like oat and macadamia. It's hard to keep track of them all!

So when we sat down (as we do each week) to figure out exactly what was in front of us, the odds were against us. But in the short history of this series, I don't think Jaime and I have ever been so far off base.

We couldn't get close to figuring out what we were drinking! That said, it turned out that pea milk has some surprising qualities. Though neither of us much cared for the unsweetened version, all three are very high in potassium—something it's important to get enough of. And while there were some that we didn't care for, we both agreed that the chocolate version was delicious—rich and creamy.
