Drink These When You Wake Up and Before Bedtime for All-Day Benefits
Bookend your day with two all-natural sippers: one is a zingy morning boost, the other is a nighttime lullaby in a glass.
We all need a little extra something to get us going in the morning, and perhaps another something to help us wind down after a long day. But the answer need not always be caffeine or alcohol, both of which can have unintended side effects and more than a few hidden calories. Instead, start and end your day with these delicious, completely natural tonics. A tart green apple and cider vinegar elixir wakes you up and stimulates your metabolism. A soothing, not-too-sweet coconut and turmeric tea aids digestion and reduces inflammation. Both have just five ingredients and are ready in minutes.
Double-Apple Morning Elixir
Anecdotes and preliminary studies abound about the potential health benefits of apple cider vinegar, including lowering blood sugar, aiding weight loss, reducing blood cholesterol, and more. Not a bad way to start the day! Just be sure to go for unfiltered vinegar with “the mother.” A whole tart apple and a touch of cilantro boost the color and make for a refreshing, delicious beverage. And since mornings are always hectic, we kept this recipe super simple and superfast—and engineered for one person. You can always double, triple, or quadruple the recipe if you’re serving more folks.

Golden Milk Tea
Turmeric is the golden child (pun intended) of the nutrition world, loved for possible benefits such as lowering inflammation and blood sugar levels, boosting brain health, and more. Here it’s steeped with rich coconut milk, and the combo is touted to help you sleep better. The warm, soothing sipper is reminiscent of chai tea; however, unlike traditional chai, which can be quite sweet, this drink is just barely sweetened to allow the spices to shine. Be sure to use refrigerated coconut milk (found with soy milk and nut milks in the dairy case) and not canned coconut milk.
