Today's #BakeItForward celebrity supporter is Melissa Joan Hart, actress, director, and mom of three.

“You may know me as Clarissa or Sabrina or Mel from "Melissa & Joey" on ABC Family, but my three boys Mason, Brady, and Tucker call me mommy!" she said. "That’s my favorite role yet!"

Melissa is baking brownies for fellow moms involved with Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America.

“This holiday season, I’ll be baking delicious brownies with low-fat whipped cream and fresh strawberries," she said. "They have an extra dose of holiday cheer, something I know my family and friends will enjoy. I’m baking it forward to my fellow moms involved with Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. They are working tirelessly around the country to keep our families and communities safe from gun violence."

But her involvement with the organization goes beyond sharing treats during the holiday season. Melissa's push to raise awareness about gun safety will continue throughout the rest of the year.

“Throughout the year, I’ll be keeping victims of gun violence in my thoughts – especially those 26 innocent lives taken in my home state of Connecticut at Sandy Hook Elementary School on this day in 2012," she said. "Every day, 86 Americans are killed with guns, including eight children and teens. As a nation, we can do more – and we will do more – to fight for common-sense gun laws that will save lives.”

Inspired? Choose a lightened-up dessert like Melissa did and bake a second batch of treats for a local charity or someone who means something to you. Deliver the treats and show them how much you appreciate them. Snap a photo and tag it #BakeItForward for a chance to win $500. Learn more here.
