Today's #BakeItForward celebrity supporter is Keith Schroeder, chef, entrepreneur, and author of Cooking Light Mad Delicious: The Science of Making Healthy Food Taste Amazing.

Keith is baking it forward for St. Jude's Recovery Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

"St. Jude’s Recovery is a center that helps people who have substance abuse problems detox, deal with underlying issues, and get back to their families, friends, and into society," Keith said. "Unlike many programs, they offer ongoing support for successful graduates and they have a 90 percent success rate."

One of the employees at Keith's ice cream shop, High Road Craft Ice Cream, is a St. Jude's graduate.  When Keith spoke with his staff about what to do for Thanksgiving, the employee suggested they take a meal to St. Jude's. Keith and his employees made an incredible meal of roast turkey au jus, pecan and cane syrup sweet potatoes, green bean gratin, twice-cooked mashed potatoes, and ice cream for dessert.

"Not only did the ladies love the food—but seeing our employee's success since finishing the program, seeing that she's loved and supported by her co-workers, and seeing that there are employers who are willing to hire women who come through substance abuse issues, all were welcome to the ladies," Keith said.

Inspired? Team up with your co-workers like Keith did and bake a second batch of treats for a local charity or someone who means something to you. Deliver the treats and show them how much you appreciate them. Snap a photo and tag it #BakeItForward for a chance to win $500. Learn more here.
