Taste Test: We Tried 5 Kinds of Flavored Almonds—These 3 Were Our Favorites
This week on the Cooking Light Taste Test, Jaime and I focused on just one brand of products: Different flavors of Blue Diamond roasted almonds.
As always, we didn't know ahead of time what we would be trying, but the video team ended up serving us two kinds of sweet almonds, two kinds of salty almonds, and then a mystery flavor (which was their particular favorite) at the end.
Almonds are super healthy, with lots of good fat, potassium, protein, and vitamin E, and very little saturated fat. And all of the flavors we tried—even the salty ones—were relatively low in sodium. That made it easy for us to just focus on the flavors.
And there was a lot to like! Jaime (who has a sweet tooth) ended up picking the Toasted Coconut flavor as her favorite. And me? I thought the Sriracha was going to be my favorite—until I fell in love with the mystery flavor, which turned out to be Salt n’ Vinegar! They taste so much like the chips, it's hard to believe they're actually healthy!
