Yoplait Expands the Yogurt Market with New 'Oui' Line
Yoplait has launched an entirely new line of French-inspired yogurts. Named "Oui" (which is French for "Yes") the artisan-style products are inspired by French yogurt-making traditions.
Created primarily from wholesome foods like real fruit at the bottom and whole milk, the full-fat yogurt is superior to 'lighter' competitors with its taste, texture, and ingredient list.
Unlike most commercial yogurt-making techniques, which rely on creating a large batch before jarring up individual portions, Oui is created in the traditional French method by culturing each container of yogurt in its own individual glass pot. These 5-ounce jars will sell for around $1.49 a piece, while traditional Yoplait yogurt rings in around 70 cents for 6-ounces.
Yoplait says that the theme of their latest and greatest yogurt line is inspired by their line of products sold in France and the unique culturing method. “I’m honored to be part of the team that breathed new life into this heritage Yoplait recipe," said General Mills' product developer Brice LeRoy, "Giving Americans something refreshingly new in the yogurt aisle.”
With around 130 calories, 5g saturated fat, and only 6g of natural sugars per serving, Oui is the perfect option for a healthy snack or breakfast. It will be available in early July with flavors like Vanilla, Strawberry, Plain, Peach, Blueberry, Lemon, Black Cherry, and Coconut. We recommend opting for the plain variety and pairing it with fresh fruit.
