To be completely honest with you, I didn't really understand the whole "juicing thing." I think the trend really peaked about a year ago when "cleanses" and the concept of drinking your meal was incredibly fad-worthy. Liquefying your breakfast was totally "in," especially if you were into yoga and minimalist coffee shops. Naturally, I deemed this all nonsense and denied it altogether. Who wants to deal with watery carrots!? Not me, that's for sure.

So, of course, now that you're reading this post, you must know that I've changed my mind. I don't do yoga (often enough), I do enjoy the occasional hipster cafe, but now I sometimes even liquefy my breakfast. I know, I'm a changed person. Can you ever trust me again!?

But with the introduction of incredible products in the market like the Breville Juice Fountain Plus, it's hard to ignore the power of juicing. This machine is a true master at juicing--you can put most any fruit or vegetable through the chute and out comes smooth, satisfying, nutrient-rich juice. I'm sold! And, over the next few days, I'm here to tell you 6 reasons why you should sell out, too.

In celebration of Clean Eating Week, we will look at 6 incredible juices with 5 ingredients (or less). Much of the fresh produce that goes into a juicer can get pricey, so I've developed my single serve recipes with a 5-ingredient limit in order to stay budget-friendly. I absolutely encourage you to switch things up and try new ingredients, though. Simply use these ideas as a foundation for an endless (juice) fountain of possibilities. Happy Juicing!

Supreme Green JuiceGreen juice is arguably the "king" of all juices. It includes vegetables and fruits and may even give you a healthful glow we hear so much about these days. You might have to squint your eyes a bit to see it, but I promise it's there. Ahh, health!

2 stalks celery (including tops)1 whole green apple, quartered, stem removed1 anjou pear, halved, stem removed1/2 jalapeño pepper, seeds removed1/2 English cucumber

1. Turn your juicer to high speed. Slowly insert all ingredients through the chute. Don't worry about the seeds in your apple or pears, the juicer will take care of it for you! Turn off the juicer after all ingredients have passed through the machine.

2. Drink immediately over ice, or store in sealed mason jars for up to 24 hours.

Note: These recipes should be adjusted according to your taste preferences. If you like a sweeter juice, add more pear or less jalapeño. If you are into adding supplements, please feel free! Again, it's absolutely up to you.
