"It takes a village" can also apply to helping folks find sustainable new ways to eat healthy.

Everyone is familiar with the old adage "It takes a village to raise a child." The concept of this proverb, at its core, is simple: Helping everyone around us grow and succeed helps ourselves. When everyone contributes to the betterment of one another, they'll likewise reap rewards.

That being said, the internet as a "village" is seldom an environment to foster and nurture growth. So that's why it's refreshing to see stories like Vicki's. Her quest for a carb-based meal plan brought her to the right village.

The Village

If you didn't already know about it, our Facebook Community is where Cooking Light Diet members new and old come together. There, they share amazingly styled and beautiful dinner pics, troubleshoot recipe questions, and celebrate successes with one another. It's a welcome solace of inspiration, friendliness, and people who love eating good food. After all, as the Turkey & Swiss Sloppy Joes on the menu would attest, this ain't exactly your grandmother's diet plan.

But not every new Facebook Community member is familiar with the revolutionary meal-planning solutions the Cooking Light Diet offers. Take Vicki Snyder Krivak, for example. She joined the Community and put out a call for recommendations. For what, you ask? Why, for calorie-based meal plans that would help her lose weight.

Vicki? You came to the right village.

People Helping People

Cooking Light Diet members were quick to jump in and provide Vicki with assistance. Robbin Roberts-Henderson reached out to confirm that the Community is a gathering place for people subscribed to the meal-planning service and even shared a screenshot of part of her menu for that day.

And then Sue Given, who's successfully lost 70 pounds with the Cooking Light Diet, stepped in to provide Vicki with even more context and help.

Lastly, Brenda Law extolled the value of the Cooking Light Diet when compared with the subscription cost.

What a friendly Community! What was Vicki's verdict, though? Had she finally found the 1,200 calorie meal plan she was searching for? Well, in her own words...
