Banana flavored foods typically receive a giant thumbs down from the Cooking Light taste test crew, so if it's any indication how delicious Van's new Banana Nut granola clusters are, I've had to fight off several folks from taking my single remaining bag. I need the bag for photography purposes, but once the photo is snapped, I expect a hungry crowd at my office door.

These granola clusters aren't your typical granola experience. The clusters, which are more one large mass than individual clusters, are soft and chewy. (The mass breaks apart easily for sprinkling, but you'll have to squeeze to form actual "clusters.") They're perfect for sprinkling on top of yogurt or mixing in with a smoothie bowl.

We'd love it if Van's had added some banana chips (the banana flavor comes from "natural flavorings"), but overall the flavor is exactly what you expect from "banana nut." You're not going to get that super fake banana-y experience you may be used to (think: summer slushies in theme parks).

Notes from Tasters:

"I like this a lot. I would love with ice cream. It almost feels like a dessert."

"Subtle banana flavor. I wish it was either a bar or a cluster, not the mass, but still delicious."

"The texture isn't typical granola, but I dig it."
