We Tasted It: Planters' Pumpkin Spice Almonds
We know: You may already have pumpkin spice fatigue, and it's not even officially fall yet. But as of this week, you can now grab a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks or Panera that's made with actual pumpkin, and we've been hooked on this yummy pumpkin yogurt from our 2015 Taste Test Awards. So this flavor profile is not going anywhere--and it's really improved away from artificial/perfume-esque territory since it first rolled out several years ago, thankfully--so consider us fans of the great pumpkin, Charlie Brown.
That's one reason we were stoked when Planters' new Pumpkin Spice Almonds crossed our desks this week. First, we were late-afternoon-hangry. Second, they're delicious. Here's what our tasting panel had to say:
"They're the perfect mix of sweet and nutty."
"I like that they're so subtly spiced. You almost miss the pumpkin flavor, which I think makes them taste more sophisticated and 'real.'"
"These satisfy your sweet tooth with actual substance, not just sugar. The spice level is nice and restrained, unlike some pumpkin spice products that overwhelm with too much spice."
"It's like having a slice of pumpkin pie! Yum...I love spiced nuts and this is so much faster than making them homemade."
"I'd throw these on top of a salad, maybe with roasted butternut squash or pumpkin."
