Good Food: Adoboloco Mangoes! Bumbye! Hot Sauce
By Kate Malin
In Pidgin English, Mangoes Bumbye means "mangoes later", which is exactly how the flavors of Mangoes! Bumbye!, the newest hot sauce from Adoboloco, hit the tongue. The taste of sweet mango comes first, followed later by the heat of the habanero pepper, each drop full of fire, fruit, and flavor. The bottle will be gone before you know it as you pour this sauce on everything from pork chops to pizza for a delicious fruity heat.
Adoboloco was born after founder Tim Parsons, flush with jalapeños from a home school gardening project he started with his children, transformed the extra peppers into hot sauce that his friends and family could not get enough of. Now Tim, his wife Summer, and sometimes their kids make sweet and spicy hot sauces from peppers they grow themselves and source from local Hawaiian farmers. Their sauces have few ingredients, the fresh fruit and peppers are flavor enough, and never have preservatives, fillers, or sugars added in.
Adoboloco Mangos! Bumbye! Hot Sauce is available at adoboloco.com and in stores across the country. Adoboloco is part of the Good Food Awards, a project to honor food and drink producers making the sort of food we all want to eat – tasty, authentic and responsible, and a proud member of the Good Food Merchants Guild, national association uniting American craft food businesses to connect, convene and promote Good Food businesses of all sizes.
