Pecan Pie Baked Apples

Photo: Rachel Johnson
Yield

Serves 4

Combine two holiday season favorites, pecan and apple pies, into an adorable and simple recipe. This idea will take less than 30 minutes to put together, and everyone gets a slice of happy, stress-free sweetness. Using just five ingredients, most of which you'll probably already have, means that you won't have to run out to the store for specialty items.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 medium apples

How to Make It

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a saute pan, heat butter and brown sugar until slightly caramelized. Add nuts and cinnamon and toss to coat. Remove from heat and let cool.
  2. Remove stem from the apple and using a paring knife, scoop the core of the apple but leave some at the bottom to hold the filling. Stuff apples evenly with pecan mixture and place in a shallow baking dish. Bake for 30 minutes, or until soft.
