Cinnamon Apple Dutch Baby

Make this impressive fall dessert in only half an hour with just a bowl and a cast-iron pan. Fresh apples and rich cinnamon combine for a baked good that will leave guests coming back for seconds. 


  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 apples, cored and sliced
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons sugar, divided
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup low fat milk
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

How to Make It

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Heat a cast iron skillet over medium heat. Melt butter and add apples, cinnamon and 1 tablespoon sugar. Cook apples for 5 minutes,or until soft.
  2. While apples are cooking, whisk together vanilla, eggs and milk. Add flour and 1 tablespoon sugar and beat batter until smooth.
  3. When apples are soft, remove from pan and add batter. Bake for 20 minutes, or until puffed and cooked through. Top pancake with apples and serve.
