Just wanted to show our genuine appreciation to all of the artisans whose amazing small batch foods we featured at the Light Up The Night celebration September 21. Some items we served together, like Effie's Homemade Corncakes topped with Bellwether Farms Ricotta; Brooklyn Brine Fennel Beets topped with Belle Chevre Goat Cheese; and Bloody Mary shooters with McClure's Bloody Mary Mix, Prairie Vodka, and Bamboo Ladies' Bamboo Pickles. We paired up Farmer's Daughter Hyderabadi Tomato Chutney with fresh Gulf shrimp for a delicious twist on shrimp cocktail.

Others, we served up solo: Salumeria Biellese Wild Boar Sopressata; Jasper Hill Farms Cabot Clothbound Cheddar; Rustic Bakery Chocolate Cacao Nib Shortbread; Xocolatl de David Bourbon Bars; and Little Flower Candy Co. Sea Salt Caramels.

And a special shout-out to John Rivers, of 4 Rivers Smokehouse, who came to the event armed with his massive smoked briskets (which I raved about earlier), which he carved to the crowd's content—he was one of the night's big heroes.

These artisans put such great care, talent, and expertise into their work, and here's the thing: you can taste it in every bite.
