We’ve assembled a task force of staff from our Birmingham offices, which include sister brands Southern Living, Coastal Living, MyRecipes, and Oxmoor House, to try the Cooking Light Diet for 3 months and blog about it. Here’s what they’re saying.
When I got an email about joining the Cooking Light Diet, my husband had been to the doctor the week before for an annual checkup. He has struggled with his weight all of our married life. It certainly doesn’t help that I’m a Test Kitchen Professional for Southern Living magazine, so I'm a good cook and he loves to eat. His doctor really got onto him this time and told him he needed to do something about his weight.
So I brought home a sample of what the Cooking Light Diet would involve, and we talked about going on it together. I needed to lose a few pounds myself and knew if this was going to work, we would need to be all-in together.
I knew for it to work there would have to be variety and that it would have to taste good. And I have to say...we've both loved it!! My husband honestly looks forward to the new menus that arrive each week and has fun picking what dishes we'll try next. We have adjusted our bread choices from white breads to whole grains, which was a challenge at first. But overall, we have loved how fresh and delicious the choices have been.
The best part of all of this is after being on the diet for four weeks—he has lost almost 10 pounds and I have dropped 4*!!! Talk about incentive!
