Preschool Director and Busy Mom of 4 Drops 35 Pounds, Gains Meal-Planning Momentum with Cooking Light Diet

January is a time when we aspire to new beginnings and set resolutions we hope to achieve sometime within the next 365 days. Well this year, one of my goals is to be at least half as patient as Fabius, NY, resident and Cooking Light Diet community member Amy Perrone. Not only is Amy the Preschool Director for her local YMCA, but she also has four kids. Four kids of her own and everyone else's terrible two-ers. I'll let that sink in for a second...

Even though she has to have nerves of steel at this point, one thing that was making Amy a little impatient was her battle with fluctuating weight.

"My weight is something I've struggled with pretty much my whole life. And I've done Weight Watchers and I'm sorry—counting points is too much work. And having to think, 'Okay, now what am I going to have for dinner? What am I going to have for lunch?' It's hard. I just need someone telling me, 'Here's what you get. This is your menu.'

Enter the Cooking Light Diet.

"Having [a menu] on paper and having someone say to me, 'This is what you get today'? Done and done. The only thing that's not getting done for me is actually preparing it, and that's not something I mind. Being told, 'Here's your menu for the week and here's your grocery list'...it doesn't get any simpler than that."

In addition to the simplicity of the Cooking Light Diet, Amy also appreciates the results she's had. Results she didn't have to be too patient with.

"[From August to October 2015] I lost 35 pounds*, and that was strictly following your recipes and your plan."

I asked if she'd exercised more to achieve that weight-loss success, and was surprised by her response.

"No, actually. Throughout all this—it's not that I didn't want to go workout. I mean, I work at a Y. I just put my kids first a lot of the time. But I am happy with the fact that sticking to this I'm losing the weight, and I'm hoping to make time for the exercise to become secondary. It's just the best ever. You have everything. You print out the menus and then you get a grocery list. It's a no-brainer! I don't have to worry about forgetting anything. It's wonderful."
