No matter how comfortable you are with makeup, a refresher course is probably in order―after all, your skin texture and features change over time, as do the cosmetics on the market.

While there are no real rules to makeup, as our featured makeup artists admit, there are plenty of new techniques and products you can try. Break out of a rut, minimize flaws, and go from looking good to great with tips from these pros.

Linda Mason, makeup artist and owner of the Art of Beauty by Linda Mason store in New York City, has worked with such celebrities as Naomi Campbell, Lucy Liu, Camryn Manheim, and Christy Turlington.

Ross Burton, Lancôme's national makeup artist for the East Coast, not only gets to scour Miami, New York City, and Europe for new looks, but also works with models and celebs like Lancôme spokeswoman Uma Thurman.

Danielle Frasca, a freelance makeup artist and hairstylist in Palm Coast, Florida, has worked with such fitness personalities as MaDonna Grimes, choreographer/dance-aerobics instructor; Minna Lessig, fitness contributor for CBS' Early Show; and Trish Stratus, model/World Wrestling Federation star.
