Although they are relatively new to the olive oil making business, the Ricchiuti family has been farming in California for over 100 years, carefully stewarding the land and harvesting high quality crops for four generations. ENZO Olive Oil Company, run by Patrick and Vincent Ricchiuti, is their vertically integrated olive growing and oil-making venture, where growing, harvesting, milling, and bottling, is done from start to finish on the same site, carefully supervised by the family.
The Ricchiutis create their Organic Delicate Extra Virgin Olive Oil using only organic Arbequina olives grown on their own estate. Olives are picked and reach their mill within three to four hours, ensuring that olives are pressed at their best. The resultant oil is ripe, grassy, and buttery with herbaceous notes of green banana, green almond, and artichoke, and a flavorful peppery finish, perfect as a cooking or finishing oil. A great flavor enhancer when grilling and sautéing, it is also a wonderful topping for ice cream (or Greek yogurt) and fresh fruit with a dash of sea salt.
