Greatest Hits 2007
Staff f from the December 2007 issue of Cooking Light
All Cooking Light recipes have to meet our high standards, but a few each issue are so great that they end up as staff favorites. One example is this white cheese-topped pizza from our feature on a Southern Christmas open house. A couple of slices also make a nice light dinner, especially paired with a soup or salad.
From our Dinner Tonight collection, these filets can be on your table in 45 minutes or less. Accompany with simple, savory sides like sautéed mushrooms and mashed potatoes.
Sweet and chewy, these cookies are sometimes called seven-layer bars. Tip: They can create a sticky mess in the pan, so it's crucial to line it with parchment paper. Because the milk needs to seep into the graham cracker crumbs, don't pack the crumbs too tightly in the bottom of the pan.
Reader Kathleen Barber submitted this family favorite that she modified to reduce fat and calories while maintaining its sweet, buttery richness. Her changes were successful, earning our Test Kitchens' highest praise.
