Nominate Your Favorite Neighborhood Restaurant

Tell us about your treasured local restaurant and chef to be considered for our 2012 Trailblazing Chef Awards. Finalists will be put to a public vote in June, and the winner will be our first-ever fan-nominated, fan-voted Neighborhood Chef Award winner.
The 2012 Trailblazing Chef Awards will again recognize chefs who are setting the pace for important trends in American restaurants. This year’s People’s Choice Neighborhood category gives you a voice in the process: We want you to nominate your favorite local restaurant and chef. Cooking Light editors will vet the nominations and select finalists that will be put up for public voting. The winning chef will be featured in the November 2012 issue of Cooking Light and on CookingLight.com.

What do we mean by a trailblazing neighborhood restaurant? “The definition is hard to pin down, but the true neighborhood restaurant is frequented and treasured by locals; it feels essential to the fabric and soul of the area; and it also feels, no matter how famous it gets, as if it were collectively owned by the customers,” says  Cooking Light Editor Scott Mowbray. “For this reason, we are looking to our readers to shape and decide the Best Neighborhood Chef category of our second-annual Trailblazing Chef Awards, so show some love to your local joint and nominate them to be the first-ever winner.”

Nominations are open May 1-31st. Finalists will be announced mid-June and voting will open at that time. Check back for more details!
