Get Ready for the Blizzard with These Make-Ahead Recipes

Cooking Light's editorial offices are in Birmingham, Alabama, where snow rarely falls—so we think blizzards sound fun and rather romantic. We do, however, know about getting iced in, and that is way un-fun, especially when you lose power and can't cook up something cozy to enjoy on your unplanned day off. When you know bad weather is headed your way, it pays to cook up and stock up with dishes that will survive (and help you survive) even if you lose power.
All of the recipes here will keep well if the power goes out, and most (with one daring exception) will be great at room temp, even if that's still a bit chilly.
