Taste Test: Our Guide to the Best Products at the Supermarket

There are tens of thousands of products on supermarket shelves; let us help you pick the best—in both taste and nutrition. After booting out foods that don't fit our nutrition standards, products are served to a Cooking Light staff tasting panel for blind taste tests. Here are the winning products in a variety of categories.

Taste Test: Pita Chips

We crunched away like mad to find the tastiest chips of the bunch—great for dipping as well as straight-up snacking.

OUR FAVORITE: Stacy's Simply Naked, ($2.79) 130 calories, 270mg sodium in 10 chips. A hearty crunch, perfect for the thickest dips but delicate enough to be a good snacking chip, too. A hint of buttery richness and a just-right salt level play nicely with the chips' earthy wheat flavors.

RUNNER-UP: Kangaroo Sea Salt, ($2.99) 110 calories, 180mg sodium in 9 chips. An airy crispness makes these chips feel more homemade than factory-made. Extra toasty with a pleasant nutty quality and subtle saltiness, so they pair particularly well with savory hummus or robust dips.
