A Father's Day Breakfast That Will Knock His Slippers Off

Whether you're serving breakfast in bed or brunch buffet style, wake dad up with a Father’s Day meal he deserves. Waffles and French toast receive a summertime makeover, and the smell of the hash brown and bacon casserole sizzling in the oven just might be enough to lure Dad out of bed before breakfast is even ready. Grab the O.J. and turn on the BBQ (yes, we’re grilling fruit for breakfast). It’s time to show dad how much you care about him and his appetite.

Begin breakfast with this smoothie to get dad’s day going, and he might not even need his morning cup of joe. Pay tribute to the endless PB&J’s dad made for you growing up with this Peanut Butter and Berry Smoothie.

Whether you carry the tray, tiptoeing up the stairs, or you have the spread waiting after dad sleeps in, give him the option of Banana Cinnamon Waffles or Coconut French Toast with Grilled Pineapple. Playing on the flavors of summer, both of these classic breakfast options save on time and calories but have all the flavors dad will love.

Bacon and cheesy goodness will prove to dad, and his stomach, how much you care with the Hash Brown and Bacon Casserole. Replace omelets with a  Mushroom, Gruyère, and Spinach Quiche that mom (and the kids) will love, too. Go beyond the recipe and add anything you think dad will like—sausage and more cheese will do. Don’t worry about making your own crust—any of these store-bought crusts will be just as good.

The finale to knock dad’s slippers off: Grilled Peaches with Honey Cream. Prove to the grillmaster himself you can handle the heat, and he’ll love knowing you learned it all from him. Cooking for dad, grandpa, husbands or all of the above, start the day off right with the most important meal of the day on dad’s most important day of the year.
