Beanitos, Chipotle BBQ Black Bean Chips

Beans are an excellent source of fiber, protein, and complex carbs, so when combined with brown rice and transformed into a Beanitos chip, they made for a healthy and filling snack. With relatively the same amount of calories as a potato chip, this legume-based snack has a satisfying crunch and crispy texture. Beanitos have 2½ times the protein of a traditional corn or potato chip and fall lower on the glycemix index as well as being relatively low in sodium (ranges from 55mg to 150mg depending on the flavor). Our staff chose the Chipotle BBQ (shown here with the Pinto Bean flavor) as their favorite saying it was “tasty with a kick.”
