The vegetable group is where you find many of nature’s healthiest foods. Vegetables are full of fiber, vitamins, and minerals
and are low in calories, fat, sodium, and cholesterol. Vegetables are divided into five subgroups based on nutrient content—dark-green
vegetables, orange vegetables, beans and peas, starchy vegetables, and a group for all others. Serve your child a variety
of vegetables from all the subgroups each week.
