This year's project is created with Universal Design principles—the concept of designing a more functional, comfortable home for you and your family throughout the many stages of life. From major architectural configurations, such as wider doorways that can accommodate a wheelchair, to small tweaks, such as lever faucets and task lighting, the 2008 Fit House will showcase how Universal Design is home design for a lifetime.

Located in the Portland suburb of Wilsonville, this year's home is part of Arbor Custom Homes' Villebois neighborhood and will be open for tours this summer. Look for more details in the August 2008 issue of Cooking Light.
