Combine speed and hill intervals to vary your indoor workout

Although weather may force your walk indoors some days, think of a treadmill workout as an opportunity to vary intensity by systematically adjusting the speed or incline—something you may not be able to do when outdoors on your usual route. Stay motivated with this routine that combines speed and hill intervals.

Tips on Technique
• Maintain good posture. If you can’t, decrease speed until you can do so.
• Pump arms naturally; you’ll maintain proper form and burn more calories than you would holding the rails of the treadmill.
