One of the best climbers and time trialists in the women’s peloton, Dotsie grew up in Louisville, KY and rode saddle-bred horses in competitions throughout the U.S. After a stint at modeling following graduation from Villanova University, Dotsie started cycling when a friend suggested she complete the California AIDS Ride, a nearly 600-mile bicycling fundraising adventure from San Francisco to Los Angeles. Dotsie enjoyed the hours she spent on her bike so much that she decided to try racing. Since joining the Colavita/Sutter Home Women’s Cycling Team in 2005, Dotsie has added to her list of podium appearances, capped off by last year’s bronze medal in the time trial at the Pan American Championships and a berth on the US National Team where she won two national titles on the velodrome. Off the bike, Dotsie is an advocate for women with eating disorders and makes speeches and appearances all over the world to help raise awareness and identify solutions.
