COOKING LIGHT INSIGHT:
America's Search to Eat Smart, Be Fit & Live Well
A National Research Study on Americans’ Diet, Health and Fitness
Cooking Light & GfK Roper Public Affairs & Media 2006-2007
Building from our benchmark study conducted in 2003, Cooking Light Insight 2006-2007 delivers critical new information on America’s attitudes and behaviors towards health and fitness, and how they have evolved over the last few years. Given several shifts within the healthy living landscape – including the introduction of the revised USDA Food Pyramid, rising obesity rates among children, and the proliferation of health products - our new study delves into several topics to answer the questions: What have Americans learned over the last few years? What are they doing now to better their health? What do they still struggle with? And what are the barriers keeping Americans from living healthier lives? The study takes a close look into the various topics of fitness, food, health, personal care, wellness, travel, finance and home life.
Cooking Light Insight also reveals five distinct groups of Americans based on their five different approaches to healthy living.
Now on its second wave, we look forward to sharing our learning and actionable insights with our valued marketing partners.
Many people today are probably more conscious of food, diet and health issues than ever before in our history. And despite the fact that figuring out what to eat to be “healthful” has probably never been more complicated, research shows that Americans are making strides in their understanding. Yet, people tell us – and statistics show – that many are struggling with how to take their knowledge and put it into daily practice. Knowing what’s right and actually doing what’s right are two different things for many of us – particularly when it comes to food and exercise.
The team here at GfK Roper Public Affairs & Media is proud of our continuing relationship with Cooking Light, which has demonstrated a real commitment to helping people bridge the gap from knowing to doing – to eat smart, be fit and live well. We believe the results of this new study will help people to identify what their own “stumbling blocks” might be, as they chart their own path to achieve a healthful balanced life.
