Chicken Saté with Ponzu Sauce
Raspberry sorbet
Asian slaw
Combine 2 tablespoons rice vinegar, 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce, 2 teaspoons light brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon sesame oil in a large bowl, stirring with a whisk. Add 1 (16-ounce) package cabbage-and-carrot coleslaw, 1/4 cup minced fresh cilantro, 1/4 cup chopped green onions, and 2 tablespoons chopped dry-roasted peanuts; toss to coat.
Game Plan
1. While grill preheats:
Slice chicken; combine with sake mixture
Prepare slaw and chill
2. Thread chicken on skewers, and grill.
Smart Ingredient
Sesame oil provides a distinctive nutty flavor. Since its shelf life is shorter than that of canola or vegetable oil, purchase it in small bottles and store in the refrigerator. It will become cloudy and partially solid when chilled, but clear and fluid as it returns to room temperature.
