The Internet keeps Suzanne Herst's (left) diverse, 11-member club outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, connected between meetings. "We are all 'trained' to check our e-mail on a daily basis, as there is always someone from the group looking for help on something, seeing if anyone wants to attend a certain function, or just commenting on group activities," Herst says. In addition to the electronic invitations that keep the group organized and let the host know who will attend and what kind of food they'll bring, the supper club also has its own Web site. The Web site includes photos of past events, menus, and links to fun web-sites. With the help of technology, this large group has managed to maintain close connections and relationships, similar to smaller groups. "We have started doing things outside our meals, such as attending cooking demonstrations and enjoying local restaurants together," Herst says. This healthy love of food and cooking has connected them with people whom they may never have met and helped them form bonds across generations, religions, and lifestyles. Next: Going with the Flow
