Flavor description
Marjoram is a member of the mint family and is closely related to oregano. Its flavor is sweeter and less intense than oregano’s and has a light mint taste. The light green leaves are commonly used in meat dishes.

How to use
Marjoram tends to lose its flavor when cooked for a long time. It is best to add marjoram towards the end of a dish’s cook time.

How to find
Marjoram is available fresh in supermarkets with a large produce section; otherwise it’s readily available dried.

Substitutes
Oregano, thyme, or sage
