Flavor description
Also known as cayenne pepper, this very hot spice adds instant, lingering heat that builds in intensity.

How to use
Use sparingly, as a little goes a long way. Add to soup, chili, barbecue sauces and rubs. Add to Cajun, Indian, and Mexican recipes when you want pure heat with no other interfering flavors. Store in a cool, dark place for up to six months.

How to find
Look for it--labeled either "ground red pepper" or "cayenne pepper" on your grocery store's spice aisle.
