Flavor description
A northern spice blend of cumin, coriander, black pepper, cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves, Garam Masala is an essential Mogul flavoring. The spices are first roasted to a smoky brown then ground to a fine powder.

How to find
Look for it in the spices aisle of your local supermarket. Or, buy online at www.spicehunter.com or www.ChefShop.com. We’ve found commercial versions are usually milder than homemade, though they certainly save time.
