This basic coffee recipe results in a perfect cup every time.
Prep Time:1 minute
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Select the particular grind of coffee that your coffeemaker requires. These
amounts are per each 3/4-cup serving.
3/4 cup water
2 tablespoons ground coffee
Drip: Assemble drip coffeemaker according to manufacturer's directions.
Place ground coffee in the coffee filter or filter basket. Add water to coffeemaker,
and brew.
Percolator: Pour water into percolator; assemble stem and basket
in pot. Add coffee. Place lid on pot. Plug in coffeepot if using an electric
percolator, and brew until perking stops. If using a nonelectric model, bring
to a boil over high heat; reduce heat, and perk gently 5 to 7 minutes.
Vacuum: Bring water to a boil in lower bowl of vacuum pot. Place
a filter in the upper bowl, and fill with ground coffee. Reduce heat. The pressure
will force the water up through the coffee grounds. Brew 1 to 3 minutes. Remove
from heat, and allow coffee to return to lower bowl.
Tip: For the best tasting coffee, buy roasted whole coffee beans and keep them
fresh by storing them in the refrigerator.
