Tomatoes: To seed or not to seed?
Ever wonder why some recipes call for seeded tomatoes and others don't?

Basically, you should seed when you don't want too much juice, since seeding causes you to lose most of it. We call for seeding in recipes requiring just the pulp, such as Fresh Tomato-Pesto Pizza. In recipes that need to be saucy or juicy, such as Baked Snapper with Tomato-Orange Sauce, we leave the seeds. To seed a tomato, core it, then cut it in half crosswise. Use your thumbs to push the seeds out of the tomato halves.
